Time
Rep introduces us to Geoffrey Stamp —a slacker who
lounges on his roommate Tim’s couch all day playing video games. He should be
ecstatic and grateful when he receives an exciting job offer as a holiday rep
for a tour company, arranging holidays for tourists from the future into the
21st century, but that is not the case for Geoffrey, who is irked. The thing is
that only the most insignificant people are asked to become Time Reps since
they are the only ones unimportant enough to not interfere with the continuum
of time and space. When Geoffrey discovers a conspiracy that might alter
destiny and disrupt the events of the future, he goes on an incredible
adventure through time to make some disturbing and even important discoveries.
Time
Rep by Peter Ward is a fantastic sci-fi read that
is different from the typical time travel books available. The originality in
concept and plot points sets this novel apart for fans of time travel; it is
set to be the next blockbuster, with quirky and fascinating characters and
impeccable world-building, transporting readers through different timelines.
With humor that will make you chuckle as you read, Time Rep’s main protagonist
Geoffrey will take you on an unforgettable adventure from meeting dinosaurs,
aliens, talking seagulls, to even visiting the time of the Great Fire of
London. At first, Geoffrey Stamp may seem like a no-good, lazy slacker, but as
you read on, you will discover that he possesses a hidden charm and depth.
Peter Ward unfolds the plot brilliantly; strewn with original dialogue and
mysteries, it makes for a great read.
Perfect for time-travel fiction enthusiasts
of all ages, Time Rep is an
adventurous tale that takes readers on Geoffrey’s journey to self-discovery,
one through which he regains his lost confidence. Close to the likeness of
Douglas Adams’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series, the book is highly
entertaining and will keep you hooked with its pace and action. If you are
looking for an exciting read or to give someone a birthday gift, this book is
the perfect read for children and young adults alike.
