Frogathon Spots — Frog for short — loves his home hometown of Harmony Lane. He creates obstacle games to play with his neighbors and he also loves facing challenges. When his mother tells him that Harmony Lane will be hosting a neighborhood fair in the coming week and that there will be an obstacle course, Frog is more than excited and seizes the moment to start practicing. Starting with collecting stones and building an obstacle to jump over. But the moment he is set to jump, Mole calls for help, needing an apple from the tree. Every time he starts building his obstacle, someone calls for help — Mole, Giraffe, Kitten — and he starts all over again. Can he practice for the Obstacle Course with all the distractions in the way?

Ready... Set... Frog! by Katharine Mitropoulos is a wonderful story for Children and I read this as soon as I grabbed it with my four-year-old boy who got just too excited about it. First, he loves Frog and has a lot of sympathy for him. Frog is a character torn between helping others and following his passion. It happens that he chooses to help others instead. But there is something beautiful about the story because when Frog helps anyone along the way, he helps himself without knowing it, eventually moving closer to his goal. This enticing book is colorfully illustrated by Laura Watson. The illustrations are telling and the Children will love the combination of colors — warm and soothing — and the gorgeous rendering of images. This book is a great gift to offer to toddlers and Children from the ages of 3 to 8. It will be a delight to kids who will love and root for Frog. Katharine Mitropoulos has penned a Children's Book with a message that will resonate to adults.
